LEARN MORE...

The BELZA is a watch designed and built by surfers for surfers.

We have developed this 200 meters waterproof watch by testing it in the optimal and extreme Côte Basque conditions. Our surfer friends community, "Justin, Pierre, Maxime, Clovis, Stéphane and the others..." as Claude Sautet would say, have meticulously mistreaten the BELZA by surfing with it in the sandy La Gravière barrels in Hossegor up to the Avalanche winter mountains in Guethary.

Its 40 mm case is bold, strong and its 32 mm opening is surrounded by a large ceramic bezel whose rim is chiseled with the interlaced March LA.B M lines, also engraved on the crown always located at 4 o'clock. A position that avoids damaging the hands during the necessary twists for the "duckdive".

The massive chiseled indexes are coated with Luminova as well as the wider hands for a better readability.

The date is surrounded by a chiseled frame to show the date stamped with very retro white numerals printed on a black background, revealing the number 3 in green once a month.

The case back is assembled with a gold-colored relief plate representing the Villa Belza in Biarritz.

The OCEAN model is equipped with a sanded blue dial, steel indexes printed with tonal markings and railroad in light gray. Its sporty and elegant appearance makes it a perfect timeless fashion accessory for any life time.

The BELZA is an amphibious watch for urban surfers.

FRENCH WATCHES

March LA.B designs and assembles its watches in France. The Swiss automatic movements that we fit into our timepieces are assembled from A to Z in France. In complete transparency, we are thus pursuing our watchmaking quest to design watches that are “as French as possible”.

FRENCH STRAPS

The 20 mm colored silicone bracelets are assembled with more resistant screwed bars, just like the 3-link steel bracelets that we have "reshaped" by adding micro cells on the back for better comfort when worn.

Design

The BELZA Model

Faithful to our roots, honest with our passions, honest with our vision... we have developed not a “Diver” but rather a “Surfer”. In 1957, an American filmmaker named Peter Viertel landed in France with a surfboard in his luggage, Côte des Basques in Biarritz. The kids from the coast, future “Tontons Surfers” discover with him the joys of sliding on the waves of this beach overlooked by a majestic residence, the Villa Belza. Surfing was born. Borrowing its proud surname from this timeless icon, our BELZA was designed for surfing. A screw-down crown, a silicone strap, water resistance to 200 meters, it concentrates all the attributes of a watch destined to spend its life in the water...a dream life!!

MOVEMENT

Franco-Swiss Automatic Movement

The first movement resulting from the partnership between the Swiss manufacture La Joux-Perret and the Bisontine family house Humbert-Droz, the G100 is a new three-hand automatic caliber with date, endowed with a fine 68-hour power reserve and a proven architecture.

This ultra-precise movement equipped with 24 jewels measuring 24.6 mm x 4.45 mm develops a frequency of 4 Hz and 28,800 vibrations.

Equipped with a Stop Second, it is extremely precise varying between - 4 and + 6 seconds per day and offers a power reserve of 68 hours more commonly called "Weekend proof" allowing the watch to operate from Friday evening to Monday morning without it being carried by its happy owner.

March LA.B positions itself as a pioneer of “watchmaking responsibility” with the desire to bring together skills and join forces for a movement 100% machined in Switzerland and 100% assembled in France.

THE GREEN THREAD

March LA.B's "Green Thread" is an omnipresent green signature through subtle details. The number 3 in green on the personalized date stamp recalling the favorite month of the founders of the brand. The green lining of the bracelets topstitched with a bridle stitch in the emblematic green color. The luminous green “skeleton” background on the automatic versions.
The interior of the emerald green travel case…

This "Green Thread" extends this "design grammar" that we have developed in order to identify our timepieces through precise and redundant aesthetic codes: The crown or winder at 4 o'clock and its guillochage of the intertwined lines of the M of the brand, the seventies typography of the date stamp, the dials without numbers with cut-out indexes, the raised and domed glass, the ubiquitous angles on the cases that are always polished and brushed.

All of these aesthetic and chromatic details to be discovered in intimacy shape the common thread of March LA.B which leads straight to the heart.
