DAPPKING CYCLES
Dappking Cycles is a company founded by Darren Lee in February 2015 in Los Angeles, California.
His goal is to restore and customize vintage fixed-gear and single-speed bicycles, whether for everyday use, for collectors, or for enthusiasts of unusual bicycles.
This company is inspired by the journey of Marshall "Major" Taylor, the first African-American cyclist to participate in the World Olympic Games in 1900. Taylor was an exceptional champion, nicknamed "The Cyclone" because of his determination and unparalleled talent.
Dappking distinguishes itself by reviving these vintage bicycles, renovating them beyond their original specifications and offering top-quality upgrades and exceptional customization.

THE CREATION OF A DAPPKING BIKE
Each Dappking bike is a unique piece, carefully designed and hand-assembled to combine style, performance and personality.
They are made from rare vintage frames and parts, found all over the world, especially Italian road bikes from the 50s, 60s, 70s, or even 80s.
Dr. Lee then disassembles these bicycles to subject them to a special plating and powder coating treatment, before giving them an exquisite style and design finish.
Thanks to our vision and passion, we breathe new life into these vintage bicycles.

DARREN LEE
Darren Lee grew up in San Diego, California. His first real adventure in bicycle building took place in middle school, in woodworking class, where he designed, manufactured, and built his first off-road motorcycle.
Early on, Darren's skills and interest in bicycles made him a popular figure among the children in his neighborhood, trading parts and restoring bikes for anyone who turned up at his family's garage.
He loved the idea of taking something old and bringing it back to life, restoring its functionality. Years go by and, wherever he goes, he always finds an old vintage road bike to restore.
Word of mouth is working. This renewed energy and passion gave birth to DK Cycles. DK Cycles bikes are one of a kind and cover a range of styles, from classic restorations to luxurious vintage renovations.
